Rolling back 124 odometer (no illegal)
Anybody ever done this? I have tried and tried and tried to fix the original odometer on my 260E and it just won't work. It spins PERFECTLY FINE when in my hand using a drill, but as soon as it goes in the cluster back into the car -- NADA. Nothing. It is so frustrating and I don't really want to spend $150-$200 to get it repaired.
I have a working odometer that I have been using in the interim that I pulled from the junkyard, but it has 258k on it....Is there a way I can roll this back to 86k where mine should be at?
When I put the drill on it, it spins like 1 mile every minute...so obviously that would take a month straight to get it back to where it was...
Any other ideas on how to get it to roll back faster?
My repair cost about 85$ + Shipping and has been working fine for almost 2 years now.
Couldn't be happier about the repair.

Let me know if you're interested - cheaper than $175K obviously hahaha
