I have a 1995 E420 Mercedes Benz, when I purchased the car the asr and the cruise control module were missing, they had been removed in a dispute with the former owner and the consignment dealer, I have repleaced the asr computer and the cruise control module and had no luck getting the care to accelerate at all, I then replaced the throttle body and still no luck, the car starts and runs fine but the asr light will not go off and it will not accelerate when pushing the gas pedal down. PLEASE HELP
Todd, I have a 1994 E420 and the ASR has been coming on periodically esp. when it is hot. I have found no one who can tell me how to resolve this. If you get any replies, please inform me as well.
Thanks and good luck,
David

the non-accelleration issue is called 'limp home mode' which is a safety when the asr
is tripped. I had this issue a while back and a rebuilt TBA (throttle body actuator) cured it.
You say you have had it replaced with no joy. Are you quite sure the replacement part
is ok? I got my rebuilt unit from 4mercedes.com.
