M103 valve stem seal replacement
Got to do the 260E's valve stem seals today. Midway through taking break
Found a few issues though...
1) Some cam wear. Oil gallery holes on the rocker arms were really bugged up which is why we believe the rocker arms are scored the way they are in the pictures...
2) Compression is good, but some cylinder leakage...35%. Not ideal, but the engine runs absolutely fine so I'm not worried about it at this point.
Onto the pics:
I opted remove the radiator as otherwise locking + turning the crank is difficult.

Just finished up...While I have the radiator off I am going to check all my seals for A/C...
So leakdown results:
1: 30%
2: 25%
3: 25%
4: 30%
5: 23%
6: 28%
That seem reasonable?
Assuming I am no longer burning a quart every 200 miles I am going to do a change with some proper diesel oil...hopefully should clean up that red valvetrain.
I also noticed my valve guides have some play in them...shame, but I may end up just pulling a good head from the junkyard and swapping it as my cam and rocker arms are pretty worn. It also says beginning in March 1989, they updated the rocker arms + camshaft to a more enduring design for this very issue. My wagon falls before this, but because its had a flawless oil change interval, I noticed no wear at all.
