'94 E500 PPI- What to look for?
Hi Guys,
Looking at a 30k miles '94 E500. What should I be looking for/concerned about when getting a PPI completed? What are some of the more common pitfalls with the W124 E500E?
TIA

I don't know if these problems would be seen so early-on like in your 30k mi. E500 example. But, fwiw, check for leaks from power steering pump, might wanna get the wiring harness replaced if it hasnt been done so already, make sure it has maintenance records mentioning fluid/oil/filter changes.
More common pitfalls later on: failing throttle actuator/LH Mode, EZL failure...both pretty pricey parts.

Sorry to burst your bubble but there are ways around mileage even from dealer service records! be carful. There is no way to really tell true mileage on cars from back then by just looking and history, if there is mileage fraud! The only way is to go in the motor! good luck! would love to see this car!

500E Signal Rot
If a owner wants to preserve the low milage of their vehicle, its very eary to pull out the cluster and unplug the speedo (its electronic) drive for three months, go get a oil change, have the milage recorded, hook up the speedo, drive a couple of hundred miles and repeat. Happens all the time
I have seen low milage cars that obivouly not low milage, they were just worn out, a true low milage cars condition would reflect the low milage.
