Are you buying these? Do you know the width and the offset? What size are the wheels on your 500 now? 19's?
I think you must be very knowledgeable about the 500E500, with such a nice example.

Where are you getting all these parts? Have you started your 500E/E55 conversion and pulled parts off to sell? Are you an MB mechanic?
Please send pics of your progress. Please keep us updated.

Do you have pictures of you and your collection? What about the coupe?

They are 8.5 x 17 ET18 front and 10 x 17 ET17 rear.
Will not fit the coupe for several reasons.

Possible on the 500E, but may stick out..
The offsets were designed for the late 126 chassis and the rare 320CE widebody.

I will be running a modified set on my 300CETT widebody.
Rear offset modified to ET -7

Tires are Kumho Ecsta XS 255/40/17 front and 295/35/17 rear.

I know a guy selling a set and was wondering! I like them alot! I dont know the specs on them. The guy has a 1990 sl500 with those wheels on it. He doesnt know about those wheels. He is a car dealer and told me he got the car as a trade in years ago and couldnt sell it! i offered him some money and he said he will sell them to me. so i just wanted to know if they would fit any of my cars! On my 500e they are cls55 amg 19's. front 19x8.5 tire 255 30 19 rear 19x9.5 tire 285 25 19. I dont know as much as i would like too! lol!
I have alot of friends with parts for days! I scraped that conversion. It was too much to get the tranny to shift! The tranny would need its own management and they do make one! Plus all my friends are telling me not to chop up the car! Thats why i bought the coupe so i could play with that! I plan to put a supra twin turbo motor (2jz gte) in it. MB mechanic? NO just a regular joe shmo guy that has a love for cars. lol
I have albums of my E500 and my 500E but none of the coupe yet!

That looks good man! so you had to fleer the rear like a 500e? Or you had to go that wide for the size tire your using? I didnt plan on using that wide of a tire! the most i plan on going is 235 front 275 rear. What you think i would need to do?? As far as fleering with those sizes??? [ QUOTE=RBYCC;3873559]

Jason

I'm building a "tribute" replica of the 1988 AMG 320CE widebody.
The flares using Porsche rear sheetmetal and an overlayed stock wheel arch in the front are about exact to the AMG C124 widebody kit dimensions and contours.

What are you paying for the wheels?

If they are the staggered set as I described and in good condition they are worth $2000-$3000 for the set.

The light weight AMG/OZ 3 piece Aero I's are fairly rare, especially in the USA.

I'd buy them if I was you, even just to resell ...

Relieved you're not chopping up the 500!
The coupe is a beautiful car, with so much potential. If it ends up looking anything like RBBYC's coupe that would be something to see.
The 2jz gte motor is a fairly common transplant in Japan isn't it?
Those wheels are some of my favourites with that huge lip. You can go 10" wide in the rear with the right wheels, on a 500. I believe that those ones fit perfectly, and the 17" diameter will make it feel a better ride than those 19's. I like the looks of those, though.
One guy on another forum races a lowered E500 on those wheels, in the annual desert race in Nevada.

Quite a few:)
Check those front hubs for cracks! One round of impact torquing and that can make them un-usable/unsafe to drive on.. Worst part is, they are un-repairable as well. I have 5 of the above 8' hubs in the shop w/ varying degrees of cracking...

For the 500e, you would need to shave like 3mm off of the mounting pad on the rear OZ rims to help raise the ET and effectively, tuck the rim lips/tire wall under the fender lip. You can also "roll" the rear fenders to accommodate the tires, which I would recommend a 285 size, like the C219 wheels you're running now. 295 might fit since the diameter of the OZ's is 17", but of course considering you do something to the offsets first.

My husband put those exact same wheels on my 500E. They fit fine, no rubbing. The offset is 17 in the rear and 18 in the front (or vice versa).
275/40/17 Michelin PS 2 on the rear and 245/45/17 Michelin PS 2s on the front.
The rear COULD be tucked in a little more (like Battlecat said -- 3mm) but they look fine the way they are and they drive even better.
Before those wheels went on there were 8.5X17 AMG-OZs all around.

Picked up a set of 4 (2 - 8.5 X 17 and 2 - 10 X 17) for $1000 shipped. They were perfect. He found them on one of the Benz forums about a year and half ago. Took the guy about 2 months to sell them as I recall.
For some reason here seems to be a glut of them on Ebay.de and Yahoo.Jp. High prices but no sales... and then there's shipping which will kill any deal nowadays.
Anyway, they fit my 93 500E.

without spacers and fender modification there is no way you will pull off 255's let alone 295's... on a 94 coupe.

i had 295's on the widebody, and they only just fitted, and rubbed on the inside before spacers, std arches will never ever accomadate such a wide tire, 245 would be pushing it!

Well.... there are usually a few sets on eBay.de and Yahoo Japan that are new. Maybe OZ did another run or maybe some were found in a warehouse, who knows? I do remember seeing a few different sets over the past 6-12 months or so while looking for four 8,5 x 17 ET 30's and one 8,5 x 17 ET 17.

I saw a new set in the UK last October, I should have wrote down the production date but I didn't.
I think there were two versions.... the early type had "AMG" while the later had "/////AMG." As everyone knows they were made by OZ in Italy. Tire Rack can rebuild them using REAL OZ fasteners, not some cheap Chinese copy.
As in any wheel prone to cracking...X-ray, or crack test the centers, I have an AMG-OZ paperweight due to someone in the past using an impact wrench instead of a torque wrench to tighten the wheel bolts.

FWIW.... the ET17 and 18s were used on various R129s while the ET 30s were used on the 124-036s with the "Sport Suspension."
I have a set of 10 and 8,5's on my 036 with no clearance problems.
I use PS2's -- 245/45/17 on the front and 275/40/17s on the back.

Anyway, here are a few recent listings on the German Flea to give you an idea as to what the market is on these wheels.
