Oil pan gasket replacment - need help

I've got a 1992 300E with the 3.0 M103.

It's time to replace my oil pan gasket because it is definitely leaking out from the gasket. I have the gasket and the plug, now I just need to do it.

But first, I need to know how to do it. I've read at some places you can just unplug the oil pressure and oil level sensor, unbolt the bolts, pull the pan and replace the gasket. But in other places, I've read there is a hellishly long amount of steps such as unbolt the front engine mount and jacking up the engine to get it off.

Please help me and give me the correct information.

A guide with pictures would be enormously appreciated.

My son and I did this twice last year....
We tried to cheat first, and didnt follow the steps to the letter... and guess what... we were wiggling the oil pan in with the gasket in place on it... we wrinkled it up... put it all together, and ended up with a worse leak than before!
My suggestions...
Use a Cherry Picker to lift the engine off its mounts... and dont try to cheat like we did by NOT removing the steering tie bar... it looks like the oil pan will come out and it will, but getting it back in with the gasket on and in place is near impossible!
My 2c!
