W124 Transmission

Hey guys im new on this site and im in a rush so I didnt get my introduction posted sorry.

I have a 1989 MB 300E that i just bought with 135,xxx miles in good condition. I bought it with a slight problem for $500.00 . the problem is that the car doesnt move when i shift up or down. what can this be? so if the transmission is blown can i swap it for another year. For example

I have a 722358 0 3242781 tranny.

My question is.... what years and model can i used for a another transmission with out any problems without any changes.

Thanks!
