1992 300ce w124 m104 transmission slipping

Hey, I have a 1992 300ce 150k miles, I have a problem with the transmission(i think), when the car is given a lot gas, around 4k rpm the transmission starts to slip(the car feels like it got dropped into neutral), and it continues to slip until i ease off the gas pedal. For some background information, the transmission oil and filter hasnt been changed in 50k miles(). The oil level is good.

I just cant figure out what is causing it

Thank you in advance for any input!

My 88 has the same problem, with a diagnosis of rebuild. Yours may not be as severe, try a fluid and filter change (including torque conv). I don't mean to pass along nothing but gloom & doom, so please come back to us with good news!

If you use the search functions, you'll find many posts covering various trans issues.

Does it happen across all gears?

Is it slipping or flaring?

Transmission filter and fluid should be changed every 50k miles. Before going any further get it done ASAP. You are far overdue.

Sorry to bring up a year old thread, but OP, what did you do to address the slipping issue? My 91 300E 2.6 is now experiencing this issue

I'll try replacing the filter and doing a fluid flush, but wanted to know if this worked for you....

TIA
