SRS Light came on

Just came home from work and on the way the SRS light came on for about 10 seconds but went back out again. Whilst on the drive I turned the ignition on a few times and it seems to be going out after the usuall 4 seconds, all seems okay again?
Has this happened to anyone before and should I expect airbag problems?

The usual cause of an SRS light staying on is in the switch in the seat belt going out.

It could also possibly be the contact ring for the airbag.

Light came on again this morning.

How do you get to and clean the steering wheel sensors and where are the others located? I've looked in my manual and all it says is "if airbag is fitted take to workshop", typical!

Like I said before, 99% of the time, the fault is not in the airbag sensor or contact ring, but in the seat belt latch.

However, if you take it to the dealer or a Mercedes independent mechanic, his code reader will tell him where the fault is. Because your SRS light came on your ECU has stored fault codes.
