300E Oil leaked and Ruined Coolant System / Blown Head Gasket
I really screwed up in not taking better care of the car but I refuse to part ways with it because it has a lot of custom repair work with expensive parts. The car has had a valve job before. A blown head gasket caused oil to leak and corrupt the cooling system. I need a new radiator too. My mechanic says its going to cost $2500 to repair. He's offered me $200 for the car because I can't afford the repair cost.
Anyone have any idea as to how labor intensive it would be to repair the gasket and salvage/clean the egr valve and everything...

i just changed my gasket and it was about 1000 dollars to my mecanic.
what he did he did not set it back right and the camshaft got broken and 2 egr valve.
what i did, i gat a spare complette engine for450$ and i got the camshaft from it
cause if u want to get oem from the dealer u rathe donate the cary the camshaft i needed they are asking 800$
so my advice look somewere to get a complete engine like the one u have and justswap the hed gasket, u might get around the same price but u have a lot of extra parts that in the future might come usefull

He has offered you $200 for the car LOL! Ditch that moron as he wants your car basically.
First that is not a $2500 job. Average HG job is ~$1000-$1200, tack on another couple hundred for the radiator.
Geosss why the heck are you telling him to find a complete new engine
Go find another indy. You should be able to replace the radiator yourself and save $200+. It is a VERY simple procedure on your car. Literally unplug all the hoses on the right side, unscrew cooler lines on the left side, pop off the metal clips on the top and it pulls right out!

Thanks man! Yeah I knew he was tryin to pull a fast one on me. Im just gonna get it towed home and put a cover on it until I can get stuff together. I bought the car for a dollar but put like 10-12 grand into it. Really too busy right now to work on it plus there's a foot of snow outside.
I'll keep everyone posted on what I do...
