i like the look of the 96 and newer e series front ends. is it possible to change out the hood, fenders, etc. easily? also dilema deciding if i should rebuild the motor or swap it out with a used one. suggestions. thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Engine, depends what is wrong with it and how much a replacement costs. "Jason 3977" on this site has an engine head for sale.

I have seen pictures of several W124s with the later front ends. I think the W210 (later) cars were wider though. I don't know how much $$$ was spent to transform those cars. They were all well done, but it is far from a common swap.

It would only be for your own satisfaction, as I don't think you would be able to sell such a car easily.
This could be a very contentious issue to discuss. People feel very strongly about mods to W124's on here.

Right, guys?

I know there used to be a kit that would give you the w210 look. It is actually kinda okay, especially on the coupe (makes it look like the w208).

Is it still available? Not likely

I don't see how the 96+ front end would blend nicely with the squarish backside on the w124. Actually, I don't even want to think about it. LoL

As for the engine, I say rebuild it with some parts that will give it better performance.

when i purchased my 420 i had the option of getting a 96 e320 instead but i really dont like how the 210 looks compared to the 124. Honestly it would be a huge mistake if you did that transformation. I think many people will agree when i say that those round headlight and wavy hood do not belong on a w124. If you want to do any transformation, do the facelift.
