1991 300TE 4MATIC
4matic disable switch
i have a 1991 300te 4matic.my 4 matic light went on and i was wondering how to disable the 4matic so i can drive it to the shop. i dont have the original manual, i have the manual for the 1993 model and looks like the switch is different.can anyone tell me where the disable switch is.

1991 (W124) 300E 4Matic
Open up the hood, and when you're looking at it from the front, on the left there should be a red lever that says test. Flip the switch. This will disable your 4Matic. But you should be able to drive with the 4Matic light on. . . that just means it's not working properly, but that your call will still be drivable.
