Changing front struts on 95 E300. Any other parts I should change out while I'm at it

I am going to replace my front struts on my 1995 E300 Diesel. (150K) I ordered the struts, rubber strut mounts, and rubber boots. Are there any other parts that I should go ahead and replace? Any parts that known to wear out after 150K miles?

Things I'm wondering about:

Ball joints
Tie-rod ends
idler arms
sway bar bushings
wheel bearings

I want to ensure that I have replaced anything that might be troublesome in the near future. I also want to ensure the alingment will be effective.

Thanks for your input in advance,

Craig

Assuming the length of the struts are the same as the ones currently on there, you shouldn't need a realignment.

You can check a few items by grabbing the wheel at 12/6 and 9/3 and shaking looking for any slack. In my sticky at the top I have strut replacement on the 2nd page if you need any guidance. Should be the same.

I'll be doing the same here soon as my 95 E300 has 235K on all OE suspension - she's getting real soft and needs some upgrades.

I've done a few front ends on W201s and W124s and the cool thing is replacements parts on these cars are about as reasonable $ as they've ever been. You could purchase the front struts, strut mounts, lower control arms, sway bar bushings, tie rods and center drag link for under 1K - that's basically a new front suspension for your W124 for a 1K.

Of course, I'm assuming your doing the work but either way its up to you and how long you plan on owning the car. For money purposes you could start with the struts and strut mounts, do that then later on do another item, its up to you but good luck!
