Intermittent ABS light issue? odd....

Hey there. Well I was driving to my MB mechanic yesterday, from school, and all of a sudden my ABS light came on. No idea why? I didn't even bother asking my mechanic because I wasn't going there for that reason. We just picked up a '77 450sl and wanted him to look at it. Besides, when I got to the mechanic, the ABS light went off. (Of course....why does that always happen?) So now, it comes on and stays on when I start the car, but not EVERY time I start the car...just sometimes. I checked to see if my cruise control was working and it was. There's no brake shudder or anything. Everything else is normal.

So I searched this forum for an answer and didn't really find one that relates other than my ABS sensors MIGHT be loose or going bad. I still have the stock 15" rims, my pads are fine and I put new pad wear sensors on a few thousand miles ago.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

-B.J.

P.S. Sorry for the obsessive use of the smilies, but they're so cute, haha!

ABS light

OVP relay, an easy fix. Don't wait too long to take care of it.

I thought the ovp relay sympyoms included the cruise control not working, the abs light, and something else all at the same time?

Nope. Cruise control is not associated with the OVP.

OVP is highly likely, also just be sure the alternator is not overcharging...rare but i have seen it happen.
