Can you give a quick write-up? It looks like it beats how I cleaned my calipers to paint them.

IE, synthetic fiber scrubbing pad, WD-40, much cursing, some bloody knuckles.

How are you "blasting" the baking soda? that looks like an easy way to clan up some metal in a hurry.

You just need a good compressor and an attachment that has a long pipe that goes down into a box of baking soda....Then just spray away!

This sure beats scrubbing!

Hm, very interesting. We can do it at home because my dad has a shop-grade compressor that stands about 6ft tall Not sure we have the right kind of nozzle that will draw from something like that though :\

You can use fine sand too which will be less of a mess than baking soda...make sure to wear a mask at all times!

Wow, that looks great.
I wonder how much a compressor would cost?

You need quite a good one with a large capacity or you'll have to stop every 1-2 minutes...so expect a few hundred or more.

Dont use sand!
Its abrasive, and will strip the Cadmium coating off the caliper and get inbetween the seals, and potentially damage the working surfaces.
Soda is soft, water soluble and does not harm delicate surfaces... the whole reason we used Soda...
