Mystery fuse
Hello all,
I was fussing with my relays (hoping to trap a windshield wiper gremlin) when I noticed that a fuse was blown. I can't figure out what it is!
It's a 15 amp fuse located next to the relays (NOT in the fuse box). I checked my manual but didn't see anything that seemed to match. The car doesn't have any problems that suggest a blown fuse--there are a few intermittent electrical issues, but nothing that simply fails to work.
I replaced the fuse and will take it for a spin tonight... but in the mean time, just wondering if anyone knows what it is.

Sure. This isn't mine (already sealed it up), but pretty similar. I put a red square around the item in question. Mine looks a bit different: it's a translucent blue cube instead of solid metal.

Very helpful, thank you! So it seems to be for the the auxiliary fan (and possibly the preresistor). I guess this means that the auxiliary fans would not switch on--perhaps not an issue because it's very cold here in Boston.

Cold up here in Canada also. You will also find another small fuse box containing 2 fuses just outside of the main fuse box. I understand that they are also for the aux fans.
The people here have been so helpful for problems with my cars and anything I can pass on to others makes me feel that I contributed a small bit.
