![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Hello Folks. Being a brand new member, I will ask what is probably not a brand new question. I just got my first MB, a 300E jewell, 1987, one owner, 130K Km (80K miles), all service records, previous owner doted on her, etc. I'm thrilled with her. Now for the technical question. Can anyone recommend cup holders for her? Many thanks!

Congrats on a great car. My first MB was a 1987 260E that had 310,000+ miles on it before I traded her...wish I still had it! You'll love this car.
Now for the cupholders... try www.performanceproducts.com they carry folding cupholders that attached to the door panels and come in several colors to match your interior..
Welcome aboard!

Thanks! And now for Cruise Control...
Guys, thanks for all your replies. I had only test driven the car before my last post, and now my wife and I have just returned from a trip (20th wedding anniversary) in the beast. I had no idea what a superb machine it would be. And I get the point re. maintaining an "external" cupholder, because the interior looks as if no one's ever been in it! Still, I'll check out the Performance web site.
Now one more question. The cruise control is glitchy. I have to coax it on by noodling around with the lever, and once it bites it's fine for a few miles, then it kicks itself off. Any clues? Feels like a mechanical prob. in the steering column more than an electronic one, but I dunno.
Thanks again!

Cruise controls are not an uncommon failure on the 124's...especially at that age. Two of my previous 124's had the cruise control go out. Both required the "cruise control, control unit" be replaced, which I did not do. If memory serves correct it was about a $325 fix. I hardly ever use my cruise control anyway.

Hi: I have a brand new cup holder that I purchased from MB parts for my 89, 300E, then wrote the car off. It is for the 300E. I now have a 94 E320 black/black. Anyway, paid $59.95 for it and you can have it for $35, incl. shipping. It is a door mount style and Burgundy in color. Let me know. Brian

1990 300E 2.6
![Thumbs up](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif)
Hi:
Hope you purchase and enjoy the 300E. I purchased one from a friend last year. Sounds a lot like the condition of yours. Only 68K miles on a 1990 300E 2.6 and never driven for work. Only a "Sunday" & trip car. I, too, felt the need for cup holders. Purchased the double one from Performance Products. It is a high quality piece. Mounted it in the recessed area of the center console. Removed and cut the carpet piece so it is recessed with the original carpet surrounding it. Color matches the interior and looks like factory original. If you do the same, be certain that you leave at least an inch between the front edge of the cup holder and the rear edge of the console so you can remove the screw that allows you to lift up the console piece containing the switches. You can still lower the arm rest with 12 oz. cans and short drink cups.

Thanks again, all, for your kind words and kind offer, Brian. I'll pass on the burgundy, as my '87 is grey on black. Much appreciated, though. Appreciate all the feedback! Other Brian, thanks for the cruise control info. It does seem to be some kind of electronic glitch, now. Works when it feels like it. I'll post a new thread re. another electrical mystery. (Speaking of Brian, I'm Brian too.)
