Shock recommendations and additional ?s

o I'm at 135k miles, 59k miles driven over ****ty NJ/NYC/NY potholed roads over 3 years (i drive a lot...)...I'm feeling things getting a little soft.

I think shocks might need to be done within the next 10k miles or so. Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm going to look into original sportline shocks. But are there any recommendations that would maintain a quality ride whilst reducing body motions like Sportline shocks, just cheaper?

I've heard from many that the sportline setup handles AND rides better than the stock setup so my goal, as time comes to replace parts, is to replace them with OEM sportline parts.

what say you guys? How many parts total are different from stock like bushings etc?

And whats the life expectancy for springs?

Your help = awesome. Thanks

If you have crappy roads just go bilstein heavy duty's and new strut mounts. If you have the money you can get new springs but I'm almost thinking why if thew roads are that bad.
Unless you really want to lower it I'd keep it just like you have it, if you lower and go with bigger wheels and thinner tires those holes will feel like shallow 6 ft graves when you roll over them.

You can never go wrong with bilstein or koni shocks/struts. Never go with any other brands than that. Also check control arm bushings, get bump stops and strut bellows.

Bilstein strut kit part # z4 asp a140 h0.
Oem amg bump stop # 129 32306 44.
Oem boots # 129 323 0192
Oem mounting kit # 124 990 0099

After you complete your shock~strut installation, get a front end alignment.

Bilstein HD's will keep ride height the same,
Bilstein Sports are the same as HD's except the shaft is slightly shorter so the car will drop a bit. So keep this in mind if you have potholes.
