There are mufflers made to bolt in to W124 but they are pricey $800 - 1300. I just sold a Remus and the buyer is putting it on his....Jetta

I had no resonator on my 300e, and decided to put it back on. It was more noticeable inside the car than out. Not having one drowned out my music and telephone calls. There was almost no difference when listening from outside, other than a sort of buzzing (resonating !) noise. Not a nice exhaust note at all.
Try finding a muffler that is made for an inline six with around the same displacement (maybe from a 2jz or an e34, e36, e39, e46 M BMW) to adapt, and you should be able to achieve something more desirable.

I forgot this is for wagons, there aren't too many bolt in performance options. The best I think is the Camaro Magnaflow a member used. It's perpendicular like stock and has single inlet and two outlets...

oh this is awesome speedracervroom! I just looked @ a dark gray one on EBay here downunder for my wife & they want over 8 times this price
It's been resprayed but there is chemical spill down block from head so......think it has a blown head gasket & they've used rad stop leak bugger it! Coolant was very watery & oil dark & thin too.....oh well
Can I ask what you used to smoke the lenses? I've been thinking along the lines of this for mine instead of forking out $550 for smoked headlights down here. We can't use the US spec ones that are cheaper due to different beam direction due to left hand drive. Illegal here & my cars modded enough without attracting more attention lol
to yours though. I luv em!!!
