RAID wheels are the only aftermarket wheel to utilize a SRS Airbag. These are popular in Europe and Aston Martin uses them on some of their vehicles. The wheel is much smaller than any OE Mercedes wheel.

German or UK Ebay would probably be your best bet.

The W124 Tempamatic system is extremely rare, so don't expect to find one for sale anytime soon. I have only seen a couple of sale in the last five or so years, all of them went for big money.

Mercedes-Benz 200D Sportline
Hi Guys,

Sorry to re-open this thread but I'm a bit lost and need your friendly/expert advice.

I have a 91 W124, non airbag, and just bought a Sportline Steering Wheel with airbag from a 93 model, as shown in the photo below.

What do I need exactly to adapt this wheel in my car?
Will I have to buy some parts, such as the angle sensor/contact ring or something else?
If yes, what should be the respective part numbers?

Kind regards,
Paulo

I love the wood steering wheels. Funny how the 500E wheel blocks the top half of the instrument cluster. You would think they would have done better on an $80,000 car.

AMG DAve,,, i have a986 300e sedan , with the basic black airbag steering wheel,,,, was hoping to fit an old period correct amg or similar type steering wheel (non airbag) to my car,,,, is it possible? (seems to be plenty of hub adapter kits/etc available, but just not sure about removing the steering wheel with the airbag and if if will present any problems after the switch - (other than an airbag light probably being on constantly?) thanks!
