Is my car a sportline?

I just bought a 1994 E320 sedan. How can I know if it is a sportline or not. It says sportline on the cladding and it has 500E/E500 interior, but it might be replaced and the badge is not hard to put on either. Please help. Thanks.

I'm assuming you bought the car I posted in this link:

Yes, that car is a genuine sportline. I was actually going to look at it Saturday, but I see you beat me to it. If you don't mind me asking, what did you end up paying?

Throw up some pics please

How are E500 headlights any different to normal ones?
They look the same as mine but mine are clear indicators, not amber

That interior alone is worth most of what you paid.

Run your vin through this:

David, did I just see one of your cars on the 71 north right now? It was a red 124 with lower fogs. Could have been amg kit or 500e.

As for the 500e lights, note the chrome housing, that's the asthetic difference. The real difference though is that since the 500e already comes with fogs in the bumper, the center light in the headlight housing is a pencil highbeam. Even the "fog" lights in the amg kits aren't actually fogs. They are aux high beams since the standard 124 has fogs already in between the headlights. Without those lights, my 500e throws a bulb warning every time I use my highs.

I have standard Bosch Euro's and don't have any issues when using my high beams (no bulb out warning) so you must have another problem.

Depo, Bosch, Hella, shouldn't make any difference. The only thing I can think of is maybe the wattage of the bulbs your using. Have only seen this problem when people use LED bulbs, which draw much less current than a Halogen bulb, this makes the "bulb out indicator" come on (if used without a resistor pack)

No LED's, just standard Sylvanias. I unplugged that bulb out indicator altogether when I installed my LED tail lights. (Not the lenses, just the circuit board and lights.) I wasn't even going to try to fool the system with those installed...

Right on! those other wheels don't do the car justice at all. Much nicer look with the OEM 8-hole's.
