Fuel Mixture adjustment for 95 E320

Got a 95 E320 with 134,000 miles. I know I need a transmission, so as soon as the cash flow gets right will replace. Right now I can drive in forward gears, but the car shakes and stumble on acceleration. I have changed OVP Relay, coils, plugs, wires and these have helped, but still staggers. Feels like it needs the fuel mixture adjusted. However I have been unable to find anything on the forum regarding this topic for the E320. Just need a little help, just point me in the right direction. This will be greatly appreicated.

Sounds like a possible ASR problem

What does your gas mileage look like? Is the idle ok? Does it have problems starting?

If you haven't thrown them away save your old coils, they are good till they go bad. You can't adjust the fuel mixture. Maybe with a little more info we can help your narrow it down. I doubt its ASR, usually that will throw a light and its rare on E320's. The best thing to do would be take it to a indi MB mechanic and get him to pull codes. There are LOTS of codes that don't throw a CEL. He can also check to see if your O2, MAF, coil voltage, injector timing is ok, that will tell you if those components are working as intended.

Thanks guys. Still have the old coils. I was thinking I may have to take to MB Dealership to get the codes read. When I do the code check on the 16 pin test connector, I get codes 19 and 25. I forgot what they were. I do not think I have ASR on this car, I will double check to be sure. Thanks for the advice, please keep it coming. Thanks

Forgot to mention this information: Gas mileage is around 24 on the highway. No problem starting up since I replaced the OVP. Idles around 400 to 800. It shakes a bit, until I run it up to around 900 to 1000, it smoothes out.

Now that I have had a chance to think, she really loses power with the AC on. Have to turn it off to get her to spool up to get going. When I have the door open and she idles, the interior lights go dim and come back, go dim and come back, I guess you would call it dimming with a pulsing of brighter, then darker, brighter, then darker, goes away with increased RPMs.

Does it have any problems starting? Sounds like your alternator may be on the way out. I don't know what those blink codes are, maybe someone else has a cheat sheet handy. Surging idle is usually a sign that the MAF is gone. The voltage jumps all over the place and the engine doesn't know what to do. If you have a friend with a similar car try swapping the MAF see if it makes a difference.

Cam sensor should be on the intake side of the head near the valve cover. Its got a plastic cone like plug on it.

08 Lexus GS350 AWD. 08 Lexus RX350 AWD - wife's. 94 MBZ E320 - still have it.
I would start with the MAF sensor. A lot quicker and easier to replace and you will get the results instantly, if it's the problem.
