95 E320 front crank seal

With 255k mi, it's leaking and I need to replace. Anyone know if it's worth the $40-$50 for the seal insert tool vs doing the job without it? Also, any other seals/gaskets that should be looked at/replaced while I have fan, radiator, etc out? Thanks in advance.

I replaced it a while ago. I removed it with a screwdriver bent itno a hook. I don't think you can replace anything else while you're at it.

Thanks Arnie. My parts guy suggested I buy an extra seal, in case I mess up the first one on the install. Has me worried the seal does not just tap in easily and that's why I'm wondering if I need the $40 insert tool.

I didn't have any problems with tapping the seal in. I applied some oil on the outside and made sure it went in straight.
Good luck.
