Need help with Dashboard
I have a 1987 300TD stationwagon, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to gain access to the dashboard speakers? Thanks, a lot

Removing dashboard speakers
From Mercedes manual for 124 body:
1. Unclip covering rail (1/2" plastic strip at inside edge of grille)
2. Loosen two phillips head screws and remove grille
3. The loudspeaker is held in the instrument panel by means of two spring clips and can be pushed out by means of a plastic wedge. (available at any glass shop)
When the speaker is removed, there is a floor of padding not unlike some carpet padding. When replacing the speaker with a today technology one, it will probable be a four inch driver. It can simply rest on the padding without spring clips-there is nowhere for it to move.
