Wow, your wagon really does look cool. Great job!!!

For tint, I've seen some of the VW TDI wagons that did a fade from front to back, for example 50/40/30. The fade eliminated the abrupt change from light to dark and you couldn't really tell if it was just the difference in light conditions that made it look more dark in the back. I only saw it in pictures, but it really looked nice.

This handle wasn't what I wanted -- I made this account a long time ago and although I asked for them to change the name it hasn't been done yet.

It is way different than when I drove it last -- and I loved it when I drove it last. =) lol

I have 20% tint on the back windows of Panzer Wagon and 35% on the front two windows and windshield strip. The % difference in the front throws off the cops, it's illegal to have tint on the front windows in NJ. X__X

Brett, Zed's car looks fantastic, and I sure would not change it without good reason.
Remember, I had the 'good fortune' of having my car slammed into by a pick up truck. If not for that lucky break, my wagon would still be two tone and I would still love it more than I should. But I have yet to see a matching paint job that I did not prefer the after to the before.

Ken, blacking out the pillars followed by matching tint front to back seems like the right combo, and I also agree that if the fronts are done w a little less sunblock, the general darkness will hide the difference a bit. Frankly, I drive with pba cards and the Sportline is 35 front to back with no ticket issues for years...so come spring, I am increasingly sure I will match front to back.

And Frank, will fine China hide from the harsh weather coming our way? I hope that thing is garaged for the winter?

Fantastic work on ze kombi und welcom to ze club.

You beat me to it! I had always thought of painting the trim between the windows. I like it and will do so shortly. Also, the tail lights look sick. I may have to trade in my tinted stocks for those shiny crystals... mmm!

Yowsa! Kombi's Uber Alles Member # 17 Thanks for the induction, the girls were quite accommodating and I'm sure I'll find something to do with these Superbowl tickets.

Ducatipaso (elsewhere) showed the painted pillars on a white wagon and deserves credit here anyway for that idea. I pmed him kudos once I picked mine up, and he said this was a known trick to make car look longer and lower. My white Sportline should come home today with the same.

And those taillights are out there, but it took me several weeks to find them. VERY bright, I think a valid safety improvement. I may shelve a set for eventual spares, I doubt they wiil become easier to find. Well, they WERE easy to find, just repeatedly told after ordering or calling that they were not available.
