How noisy is your engine?
Just wondering how much noise from your engine is sent through to the cabin?
In my C124 (E220) the engine is quite noisy and generally is the noisiest thing. Even on the highway there is more engine noise than tire noise or wind noise.
Is this something that is only apparent in the 4 cylinder cars or even the 6 cylinder ones?
I would expect that with the double firewall design it would be pretty quiet.

Hi there.
Regarding you problem, I'm faces the same problem with my MB W124 E200 1995
what I do just to washing my inside engine :
by using (power oil 1 KG + 5 KG Kerosene) so the total is 6KG
like when you change your engine oil with filter it's the same capacity, later just turn on your engine for 5 min. and empty it again
to be assure your engine is clean
when you finish previews thing putt 1 KG engine oil and turn on for 1 min.
so far you’re ready to put your new oil filter & oil engine

Regarding you problem, I'm faces the same problem with my MB W124 E200 1995
