How rare is the 94' E320 Sportline Sedan?
I own a 94' E320 Sportline Sedan. Red/Black. I have only seen one other one the same as mine on the internet with tan interior. I have never seen any articles or any information on this model online. I have seen many coupes, convertibles, and 190E models even 92-93' sedans but never the facelifted 94-95' models. Does anyone know of any information on them as far as how rare they are and how many were in production.
Thanks.
Thanks.

are you talking about the color combo or the car itself?
1994 E320 sportline isnt rare. In my opinion it is one of the best family sedan engineered car mercedes have ever made. I completly adore it.
In europe, middle east and asia sportline W124 were very popular and they sold a lot of it.
As for red on black, i never seen one at all.

I agree, well im talking about the actual car itself. I havn't seen too many 94' Sedan Sportline models in the US. I don't know much about the rest of the market but I know that there are many in the previous 93' and below years but havn't seen many sedans in the 94'-95' years.

The Sportline model accounts for (depending on who you ask) about 3% of USA 124s sold.
It is rare, but not so collectable, just a really, really nice version of the sedan.

I personally have never seen a red/black w124... however, it's too bad that there aren't more out there, red is my FAVORITE color for the w124!!!

are the amg spoiler kit from the factory or was fitted by you or a previous owner?
it is very rare (pretty much impossible) the cars that got those fitted from the factory. Depending on my own research and knowledge: At that time it was pretty much impossible to add an AMG kit when buying the car from factory (which in the pics, i can see the front gen 2 front spoiler and the sideskirst)
But since your car is a 1994 which is after the merger with AMG, if you decode your vin number it should mention all the extras packages it got!
it look super nice! keep it man the interior as awesome.
if you want send me your vin by pm and i can try decoding and ill send you back the results so you can know all the packages the car gots. I beleive it is full of nice extras fitted from factory, since you got the spoiler kit and the sport seats front and rear.

It's about
a 3 grand car if you consider that rare. Even less if the harness has not been upgraded or the headgasket replaced.
nice looking though

What i mean is that money value doesnt always reflect the real value of the car these days. Its not a classic or a collector, but with the the extras it appears to have and the color combo...we can consider it near of being rare.
If i had to choose between this W124 and a W210 2002, i would still take this one with eyes shut closed, even if the diferrence in price is around 10K (if you value the w124 at 3K)

FWIW, AMG accessories ordered with the car are encoded in the VIN starting in 1992. (which is the first year you could order a AMG car through the Mercedes dealership).

Thanks a lot guys after owning many 500E's, and other w124's I have a different type of liking for this car. I have decided to keep it and drive it daily as my 500E drinks up way too much gas. As for the vin, I will get that too you tomorrow thanks for taking your time to look it up, im curious to know what this car is all about.

Yep, you are in the right place to offer a well done Sportline, w kit in a nice color combo.
But curious, why the 24 hour mind change? I'd imagine it is hard to step out of a 500e and into this 6 cylinder car?

The car has 166K, it does need work to the exterior the paint is peeling many places. The tranny is great and motor is good as well but the check engine light turns on at random times so it might need a tune of some kind. As far as records I dont have any. Im letting her go for 3K for forum members. I have it listed higher elsewhere. I was going to keep her but realized I dont have extra money to put in her or time as I need a car by this week for work, something more economical.

Sure logical thing to do, but....this is a US spec car, you couldn't order a US spec W124 with any AMG parts. The AMG bits probably were added by the dealer after delivery or a previous owner. Other than the body kit, its a bone stock Sportline. Black interior on a signal red car is rare though, most have cream/parchment interior.

Ya it probably was added later I don't know of that but the car is Rare as far as the 94-95' model sportline sedan. Ive seen many in previous years without the facelift and many coupes and convertibles but not too many 94-95' sedans. Thats why I say its a pretty rare model for this year and it being a sportline.
