What bolt pattern does my 86 300e have???
The title pretty much asks the question. I've been told two different sizes. 108mm and 112mm. And the fact that i'm american the whole MM bs isn't handy. I'm more used 5x5 and 5x4.5 not 5x108...
I'm still learning with this car since it's the first MB that i've owned. Never expected it would be quite as expensive to maintain though. I mean I've done tune ups on 4-500hp hot rods with all top of the line products and have only spent around $100. But a standard tune of for over $200!? Just a little ridiculous in my book.
I do love the car though, and I expect to be driving it for quite some time.
Ok, sorry to blab. If anyone can clear this up for me once and for all I would really appreciate it. I've found various wheels for this car that I like but I'm having no luck with the bolt pattern.
Thanks for any help offered up.
PS. anyone know of an actual shop manual of some sort other than the crappy owners bible?

Mercedes Benz AMG
it has a 5 x 112mm bolt pattern and the vehicle requires a low offset wheel hope that this helps. what are you trying to put on it?

The other important fact about Merc wheels is that they are all Hub Centric..74.10mm OD x 66.56mm ID.
Also the early model year cars like you have use a M12x1.5 lug bolt, and later model use M14x1.5 lug bolt.
The offset on the 124 depends on the rim width, and can range from ET30-ET40 +/-

Ok, see someone was trying to tell me that something like 88 and newer had the 112 pattern and mine was the 108.. I'm only going to go with a 7.5" width unless I could fit an 8" rim but everyone keeps telling me it's a little too wide. I don't need them huge but this pinner 195/65/15 crap has to go. Although I just found out today that it does pretty good in the snow with it's current setup. I have a Jeep for that though so I don't care about winter traction with the Benz.
The whole et40 stuff has me at a loss though. I'm used to stuff like a 3" back spacing and so on. Good thing I love to learn when it comes to cars though

I'm fairly certain that every mercedes in recent history (with the exception of the Smart) has had a 5x112 with 66M center-bore.
Backspacing is sometimes given on sites like TireRack to help you with wheel purchasing. I'd just stick with under 8" wide, under 18" tall, and within the ET/Offset ranges listed above and you're likely to be okay.

The 35 is millimeters...just convert to inches so you can better visualize the distance from the hub to the centerline of the wheel.
Use the proper tire size to match the measured rim width and you will have no interference with your sheetmetal.
