1992 300D 2.5 Turbo Heater/Air Conditioner issue
I just purchased a really nice 1992 300D 2.5 Turbo, (124.128/602.962). It is in excellent shape both interior and exterior with 175K on the odometer. The only issue I have is that when the air conditioner is on it will cool for a period of time, then switch to heat, and back again to cool. During this time the fan can be on "auto" or "manual". In auto the fan will slow down as if reaching the temperature set on the temperature dial , then switch to heat, fan go to fast, slow down again and go back to cooling. There appears to be no "time line" to this activity as sometimes it will cool for a long period, sometimes a short period.

I'm drawing a blank on finding a resolution. Does anyone have any ideas, or have you seen this in your car, and how did you resolve the problem.

Thanks in advance.

I solved the problem. The hose from the interior senson was defective. I repaired it and the air works great!
