If he doesn't contact Rik (2phast) !
He does an excellent rebuilt auto dimming mirror for the W124.

That reminds me, I still have to take photos of mine. I love it, it is perfect, and having Rik install the Dimmer override button in my mirror made it my favorite functional mod to date.

Yes, in urban environments (think a city at night) it is actually DANGEROUS to have the mirror dim. You will have a difficult time seeing pedestrians behind your car.

So, I bothered him enough about it that he figured out how to install a switch that will prevent the mirror from dimming and restore it to full brightness while keeping everything else functional (compass and homelink).

Best thing ever, seriously. I say this with no reservations. If he is still willing, ask him to put one in your setup as well.

thats true, all my cars had tints in the rear, so i'm used to it, and it wasn't that dark... but is that how dark it gets? i mean my cars were always tinted, even my old 300e, but the mirror was fine at night, but homelink does sound sweet, so does the compass, so i guess ill see if i can get him to get me one with just homelink and compass well once i get my ce running good and all that

thanks for your info saijin

Get it with the dimmer override switch, why not?

I find it to be very dark, most people probably wouldn't mind it, but I'm OCD about things like that... If I can't control it, I don't want it in my car (on the regular mirror I CHOOSE when I want it dark or light).

There is still a fair amount available out there, online, to dress/mod/upgrade your 124.

However, I suggest you buy from reliable sources. Check their history on the forum first. Ask around. Saijin knows most vendors' histories.

Rik (2phast) has great products and he stands behind them. Helpful and reasonable.

Others:
TireRack - online tires and wheels are good

Parts.com - reasonable prices and quality, depending on the item - worth comparing

SoCal Carbon - Albert does bumpers etc.
http://www.socalcarbon.com/SoCalCarbon/

David Hendy (on this site and eBay, out of Conn.) parts out W124 Mercedes
Good prices and reliable/honest.

Potomac Pat - used parts, usually wide variety.

Window Rubber Seals

Hello, i am after the inner and outer rubber window seals for all four windows. They are the thin rubber strips that sit next to with window and on the inside and out side of what the window pops out in-between. Do you have any in good condition?
