audio wiring question

I was wondering if anyone here can give me some info on how the stock audio wiring is set up because my '89 300E has had multiple deck switches over time and I am clueless as to what it could have originally looked like. I want to put in a cheap new Blaupunkt CD player because the old deck is junk but I'm not sure which wires go to which speakers. Any help would be appreciated; I need to know which color corresponds to which speaker and which is pos/neg.

You can use a 1.5 or less volt battery. Touch the battery poles with the speakers wire and you will hear a pop in its respective speaker.
Besides, if the cone movement is forwards, it indicates the speakers + pole, attached to the + battery pole.
Just touch and untouch the battery poles. Don't let them connected to the wires. You will see the cone displacement.
