Hydraulic valve elements

Hi guys,
I would need some experienced advice. Has anyone of you DIY's ever replaced the hydraulic valve elements of a '90 W124 300E? Is that something which can be be done with the limited tools and instruments resources of a DIY?

I never have done, but I have revised my books and it seems that no special tool is needed

Hi thanks for the input. I'll just have a look under the valve cover and see how it looks like.
