I am sure you can but why would you want to do that?

If you take a mirror from (I think it is) SL500 then you get the same size.

yes they are the same here..... guess it was a daring thing for mercedes to do at the time - to make their cars look completely unballanced.
i guess any other manufacturer would have been laughed at but cos it was mb people of the time must have just thought "oooohh
cool ... i think" oh well at least we have the clear indicators lol.

mario

the u.s. spec cars have the rectangular mirror on the left side [looking at car from rear]. the square mirror is on the right.

now how about a pic of a u.k. w124.

only the mirror from a rhd car will work

i'm pretty sure i am correct...

Mirror imaged mirrors

Yes, the mirrors on our RHD versions are the mirror image of your LHD versions. Whilst in theory, you could take the drivers side mirror from a RHD and use it as a size matched passenger side mirror on your LHD, I have seen others run into trouble doing this. In Australia, early 107s and 123s missed out on passenger side mirrors. The genuine items are expensive so some thought they would be smart and obtain second hand drivers side mirrors (for LHD) from overseas. The problem is that the mirror cannot be angled sufficiently to be usable from the opposite side of the car. I don't know if this is the case with the 124 mirrors. If I think of it, I will sit on the passenger side of our 300TE and try to adjust the drivers side mirror to a suitable position for use in the way you intend. The other issue is that you will lose the slightly convex, wide angle passenger side mirror (ours are convex, maybe some markets are not). Also, only the late 124s got power adjustable drivers side mirrors. Only the left hand (passengers) side is power adjustable on our 1990 cars. You would obviously need to obtain a late one to get the power adjustment.

damn !!.... you are right ebennz , we have the square mirror on the right - if looking at the car from the front.
sorry i haven't posted a picture yet , but i will as soon as i get time. maybe we should all get together and swap mirrors or something! lol - not sure which would look the best , both square or both rectangular?
