New guy with his first benz

I have been working for my local MBZ dealer for a while now. I have been waiting for the perfect e320 to come through on trade in. Last week this 1995 179k mile e320 was traded in. Service at our lot since new by the same lady. New tranny put in last year and all new ac done in January. The guts are perfect and only a few hail hits on the body.

Here she is.

My plans are to lower it, exhaust, small sound system, and a set of wheels. On that note, I want to go with a staggered fittment. What is the offset and max width I can do on the rear?

Thanks everyone and look forward to being on this forum.

1995 e320
Congrats on the car. What a coincidence I been a Benz tech for nine years now and just recently also purchased a 1995 e320. Have fun with it.

You mean the Best Built Car in the Wuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhld!

Congratulations, dude. That car is the last of the street legal tanks.

There's a wheel fitment guide on the forum's main page. Check it out, along with the running gear thread. All you need to know about tires and wheels is there.

Cheers.

Despite mileage, REALLY nice to pick her up right after a few service heavy hitters pass. Assuming the harness is done, you are in great shape at the second wind point of the car.

Congrats!

The 1995 should have a Becker model 1492 with no external amp.
It uses a DNS-ISO connector.
It may be plug and play with many aftermarket head units.
http://www.beckerautosound.com/1492-1994-95/OM1692.pdf

The 1991-1993 has a Becker Model BE1432 head unit in the dash and a BE 1532 tuner/receiver in the trunk. With the Sound System there are also two full-range amps (N40/1, N40/2), behind the trunk unit, driving 10 speakers. With the Active Base System there is one amplifier (N40/3) driving six speakers.

I got a metra harness yesterday that had RCA plug ins for the oem amp hook up. But at full volume the music is just a wisper. The head unit has a 2.5v output in the RCA cables. I am thinking I need a line driver.

You may not get this.. "No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night !!! "

In the mid-2000s, Holiday Inn Express began producing humorous television commercials featuring "average Joes" performing extraordinary activities that only experts would know. The concept attributes these exaggerated abilities to the fact that they "stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night". The campaign reflects the brand's slogan "Stay Smart" which is still in use today.

Really just owned a C124 from new in May of 1988... !!!

I reread your post. No external amp. That would explain the low audio output. Thanks.

After switching from the rca output to the powered outputs everything is great. Now its time to build the sub box and wire up the amps. Looking at some 2000 e430 wheels today.
