manual transmission ????????????????
now tomorrow i'm getting my c36 amg delivered and based on what shape the car will be i'll consider swapping the 36 engine into my white ce, now if i'm to do that i don't know what should i do with the trans,
is the c36 tRANS any different than the one i have now on the3.2 6 in line,
or should i get a stick shift install, i;d love that , but if it is to be stick, does it mater the engine it came from , would a 5 speed from a 2.3 slk 97 98 fit the 36 engine? what do u think? thanks
The C36 engine is an M104, which is essentially the same engine as my 300E-24V but with a larger displacement and EFI, along with some other stuff.
That being said, you can "physically" swap it to manual using the manual tranny that was available on the 300E-24V/320, but I'm not sure if the electronics in the C36 system are as friendly/stupid as on my car.
I'm pretty sure they're not, actually. :P
Not to mention that a c36 engine fit exactly in place of your current one. And if you have all the wiring, electrical components, and engine/peripherals available it's just a matter of time and labor.
i am thinking of getting both from the c36 the engine with the trans , or if not i'll look for a manual trans

Long input shaft is used on single mass flywheel.
Short input shaft is used on dual mass flywheel.
Dual mass flywheel isn't as strong as a single mass flywheel, but its a lot easier to shift around and its comfy.
Single mass flywheel is more "performance" and you feel everything. When you drive my car, you feel EVERYTHING
. Only because I have torque dampeners all around my engine.I say do the automatic C36 transmission swap and if you're not happy you can do the 5 speed swap.
