New Rims..Maybe
The tire is about 9,500 miles old and is completely down to the threads right now. The shop is going to try to fix the rubbing issue when they put the new tire on, but they arn't sure if they will be able to.
If the shop can't fix the rubbing I may be selling my current rims and tires and buying some new staggered ones.
I can't be going through a tire every 9,500 miles because its $165 just for 1 new tire and installation.
Incase they aren't able to fix the rubbing im starting to search for some new rims and tires.
I love BBS LM's but i won't be able to get a set of those with tires for anywhere close to my budget of $2,000.
So I'm looking for a mesh style rim prefferably BBS LM style but a fraction of the price. Or something mesh with the concave look.

I love those, but they only come in 5x130, and they are work wheels so im sure they cost a decent amount of $$$$.

Thats the concave style im talking about, but being ADV1's i think they are something crazy like $1500 per rims.

If anyone has any idea on some reasonably priced rims with the bbs lm look or the concave with a 5x112 bolt pattern (or the option to custom order), please let me know.
Thanks guys
Why the frick spend money on brand new tires if they're going to get FUBAR after the next 9,500 miles anyway?
Or have I gone crazy here?
For me the thought process was that other people can SEE and appreciate the "easy"/cosmetic mods, there is typically a well-defined price (as opposed to lets start fixing stuff and see where this takes me), its more fun to shop around for cosmetic mods and get opinions, etc.
So I get it, I've been there and done that. Its hard to buckle down and focus on what NEEDS doing first as opposed to what you'd rather take care of first.
Zack, if you've any inkling stuff needs maintenance/repairs, try and tackle that first. If you wait it out long enough like I had the misfortune to, you may end up with a 2K+ repair list like I've got going now.
Play it safe man. Mods after the essentials, so you can actually enjoy the mods.
So, lets try this again.
I already have aftermarket rims, the front ones are 17x8 and the passenger side front tire rubs on the fender pretty badly.
And, why buy a new tire? Its down to the threads id rather not have it blow out especially with these 90-100 degree temps here in texas.
The shop is going to try to fix it tomorrow by re-aligning it, taking of the spacers etc etc.
If it doesn't work to fix it, im selling my current rims and tires (the ones that rub), does everyone understand so far? Good
Ive got 2 options basically...assuming they arn't able to fix the rubbing:
1) Keep the current rims and tires and go through a tire every 10,000 miles
2) Sell the current rims and tires and buy some new ones.
On that note, does anyone have any opinions on what i should get?
Prefferably mesh rims with the BBS LM type of style. Or some mesh concave rims.
Im looking to get staggered sizes, maybe 17x8.5 or 17x9 in the back and 17x7 or 17x7.5 in the front.
Also, im probably going to get Pirelli Pzero's for my new tires (assuming im even getting new rims/tires) so that leaves me with about $1200-$1300 to spend on rims

I think the problem was the tire was hitting the strut without the spacers, i'm not sure though, the shops going to check it out for me.

I didn't install the rims because i got the tires at the same time as the rims and i obviously can't install my new tires so the shop went ahead and installed the rims too.
And ofcourse the shop can't remember exactly why the spacers were on there, but they said there must be a reason they put them on.

Found those, i might see if i can get those custom ordered for a couple hundred bucks extra.
If they can do custom orders ill probably go 18x9 in the back with the 3.0" lip and 18x7.5 in the front with the 1.5" lip. But they don't make the 5x112 pattern or 18x7.5 so i don't know if theyd be willing to change the bolt pattern and the width even with custom orders.
EDIT:
I just checked on the wheel fitment guide and I don't see any 18x7.5", but i would imagine they would fit for sure. With the proper offset, can any confirm that 18x7.5" will fit in the front.
I'm not too worried about 18x9 in the rear, because my 17x8 fit fine. Should i not do 18x9 in the back?

I've got 18x8's in the front, and they're currently rubbing to all hell. Worse, I can guarantee, than yours are. Had I listened (and read) a bit more here I'm sure I could have gotten a set of 18's with a proper ET for my car.
I'm going to dish out alot of money getting around this problem. I advise you to listen to what people are saying here before you do anything.
