Convenience relay question

I have a '90 300E. I believe I have a bad convenience relay and my windows are non functional half the time. I looked at my box and it shows the part number:
124 820 30 26 next to the MB insignia.
It also has a white dot on the upper edge of the case if that means anything.

A guy on eBay has one for "Fits all 124 E class sedans 1990-1993" but he shows the PN as 124 820 32 26

Anyone know (for sure) if these two parts are interchangeable ? Thanks in advance....

How handy are you? You may be able to perk up your original unit by cleaning the relays. If you open it up, there should be eight of them in your unit. The contacts get burned over time. If you can find a way to clean the contacts, you may solve the problem quickly and cheaply.

According to the MB EPC, part 124 820 32 26 which was superseded to 202 820 09 26 are both used for chassis numbers up to 921400. As of chassis number 921401, the part is 124 820 48 26. 124 820 30 26 does not show as a valid part number in my look up.

Interesting....double checked the number - 124 820 30 26 is it.

Bought that convenience relay yesterday for $50. If this doesn't fix it, I'll consider a small, strategically placed, incendiary device next......

Replaced convenience relay. Problem solved.

Thanks all......

Floobydust....just FYI, I did recheck that number and it definitely was
124 820 30 26, but the 124 820 32 26 works just fine.

Andy_M -

Glad it's working. My general impression is that the convenience relay really only comes in 3 flavors - Sedan, Coupe, and Cabriolet. All the different numbers are probably just different suppliers, etc. Also, sometimes I have found the early part numbers which have been superseded are not listed in the MB price catalog which might explain not finding 124 820 30 26.
