Is it possible that your style of driving as posted in April 2010 may have taken a toll on your transmission ?

"I was quite amazed though. I was driving around earlier today and put it in 2nd gear (I have auto transmission), and i was cruising at like 4500 revs, then i floored it.
When i floored it in 2nd gear it took off right away and the tires spun and screeched for a second. Why doesn't the car pull that hard when it is just in DRIVE? "

At this point you have more problems then just a leak or low fluid level...
But of course you know it all and do understand what happens to the clutches when fluid drops beyond a certain point?

Looks like you've finally ruined what was once a perfectly good Merc..
And weren't you the young man who felt that checking fluid levels was not your responsibility

im having the same luck on my 1990 300E. Transmission is stalling when I go into reverse. And the overflow from the radiator seems to gush out after a few minutes. Just a bump in the road. Still have to replace the catalytic converter as well (rust has done its part on it and its not salvageable at all) I'll post pics soon. Lastly anyone know hot to troubleshoot the cluster on the w124. My speedometer doesn't work all of a sudden. Though everything else works just fine.
