New 87 300TDT New to Forum
Hi all - Well I pulled the trigger and bought my first Benz - 1987 300TDT. I've owned a Karmann Ghia, Datsun 610, '72 Suburban, a variety of Volvos, '66 Econoline van, '62 Cadillac, and a car I'd prefer not to mention ('82 Dodge Challenger - ok, it was given to me). I was back to looking at the 240 Volvos when I thought I'd look at the w124 - both seemed about equal on reliability and similar priced - of course I'm preaching to the choir here - but the w124 is just so much nicer of a ride and a little better in the power department (although mine is a diesel). I waited a little too long to get this car - my father was a huge Mercedes fan (I can quickly count nine that he owned) and probably would have bought me one if I said the word - but he passed away a couple of years ago. My mom also owned a variety MB's - late 1960's 220's and a really sweet 220 coupe as her last MB (she's still around - my mom, not the car). So I'll have a few questions - but just want to say hey. Here's a photo - I'll post more soon.....oh 240,000 miles.

You might not after breathing in the diesel fumes. But thanks - I'm looking forward to finishing off my first tank of fuel to see the MPGs.
Regardless of diesel or gas I LOVE the way this car handles above 45 - 55- 65 --- it just seems to get better the faster you go. And I probably need new struts, so I can only image after that happens.
