antenna wont stay up

whenever I use my radio my antenna will go up and extend all the way and then go back and stay down. I'll usually have to hold the button or keep it pushed up, but it will automatically come back down after that. any ideas? something electrical or with the motor itself?

Do you have an antenna switch or is it the on/off of the radio that raises the antenna ?

lol no problems with that buddy.

The antennae switch at the top of the middle console. When I turn the radio on and put the antenna switch to 'up' the antenna will go up and then go back down and wont come up again.

Hmm Puzzling !
Look a suggestions - shoot this guy off an email.
He is an ex-Hirschmann employee of many years who now specialises in selling replacement parts etc for Hirschamnn models.

It sounds to me like something in the motor drive not so much the switch.

His name is Malcolm Stalley from Car-masts-UK.

Email is enigma57@gmail.com

Please mention you were referred to him by MBWorld - he gave me such great service and assistance not long ago I want to pay him back.

Just tell him the symptoms he may well be able to diagnose it straight away.

If you need replacement parts he stocks all the Hirschmann stuff and whilst it is a couple dollars dearer they are high quality compared to the cheapo stuff on eBay. You won;t regret it in the long term if you keep original bits.
