500E/E500 picture thread 2012
Gosh, 2012 already?
So many new owners for these great old cars. And a few old owners like me are still around.
I think it's time to brighter up the winter with some pictures of your .036. What the hey, show us your 400E/E420s too.

Wrong headlights are on the car in the photos. I've since resinstalled my USA 500E lights and those will stay until I can pick up a set of Euro Hellas. Plus the bumper needs to be resprayed and the engine/wheels could use a better detailing.

the answer to your question....
The E500Es chassis nomenclature is W124.036 Yours started out as an E500, but got it's engine displacement enlarged a full litre or so.
The other V8 E-class sedans from this era are known as W124.034s.
Hey Jimmy, weren't there great numbers of E500Es in Japan getting together? Does that still happen? I remember seeing pix somewhere with 60 or 70 cars all together not too many years ago.

As for the mentioned gatherings, I do not belong to any car clubs therefore am unaware of such events. There are avid fans of 500 here and yes, there are all sorts of exotic wheels to choose from. w/ smiles Jimmy

Handle wise I'd rather be in the E. The CL is just too kooshy in the corners w/ the air ride... Obv the power in the CL is superior hands down, but as I'm sure you owners know the 500 really packs a punch when you put it to the floor. I really love both cars, each for their own reasons. They really are both amazing and I'm blessed to have them!
