Do I have an alarm? (PICS)

I have a 1991 300E, how can I be sure that I have an alarm?

The factory sticker indicates that the car has an alarm, but I have never once heard it go off or arm/disarm itself, and I have tried to set it off many times. I have checked under the passenger floorboard for disconnected wires but have been unsuccessful, I have replaced all my fuses and still nothing.

What can I do to be sure that I have/don't have an alarm?

And If I do have one, why isn't it working?

roll your windows down. get out of the car and then lock the doors. After the car is locked pull up the door lock pin your alarm should go off.

Just went and tried that soldsep, didn't do anything.

This is the deal:
THe dealer i bought the car from said it had an alarm.
The original window sticker says that an anti-theft alarm is standard equipment on my car.

So I thought maybe it was the wrong sticker, but I checked the serial numbers, and they match.

So I checked the w124 owners bible, fuse 11 & 12 under the hood were for the alarm. I get under the hood, hey they are missing. I look under the fuse box cover, it lists 11 & 12 but they are not labeled, the description box is blank. I place the correct fuses in 11 & 12 according to the owners bible, still nothing, no alarm goes off doing the soldsep method. I check under the carpet on the passenger side footwell, but have no idea what I'm looking for, just making sure everything is plugged in. Does anyone have a picture of what the alarm module under the carpet looks like?

I thought it could've been a sticker misprint, but the anti-theft alarm is listed under standard equipment, so how could it be missing?

So does anyone have pictures of any components to the alarm like the module or speaker that I could look at? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

EiknujZneb,
Another indication of the car equipped with an alarm is the red dot on the (original) master key. My '86 alarmed one day and I'm still wondering what trips it. I suspect a delay in my central locking system since if I open the door too quickly it sets it off. I haven't checked the door lock yet. I disable it sometimes by removing the big plug at right side of the engine computer and currently run without the fuse that activates the horn. You may want to check if the plug is secured and then try soldseps alarm check.

the alarm also goes off if you leave the hood half latched, lock the doors (arms the system), pull the hood latch and open it...

maybe it was aftermarket but I learned that from a mistake (1992 500E)

The factory alarm on W124 is activated when you turn the trunk key lock to the right. To deactivate it, turn it to the left.

It isn't actually an alarm noise like a siren...it makes the horn beep repeatedly...at least on my W124.036 it is like that from the factory.

The vehicle's regular horn and alarm horn are different... but sound the same.

The actual alarm unit is underneath the passenger footwell as pictured above.

I still cant get it to work. No matter what I do i can't seem to set it off. For a while I thought maybe they took out the alarm horn because it kept going off randomly, but the lights should still blink right?, they never have.

There should be a red light on the dash along the switches which are above the A/C unit.

Lock the doors with all the windows open. DOes the light blink?

Next, lock the doors using the front passenger door. Does light blink? Remember, you must lock with key to engage the alarm. Does opening the passenger door after locking it with key (wait 10 secs or so) set the alarm off?
