Hi everyone, I was wondering if any one has been interested or heard about engine swap from w202 c36 to w124 e320. Is it something easy to do? do I have to change anything in order to fit it in?
Do you think is it something worth to do?
are those 3.6 any better or worse than 3.2?
Thank you

It is a fairly common and straightforward swap. The Amg engine still has the same issues as the standard m104. (wiring, head gasket etc) The fuel consumption is actually not notably worse than the 3.2. Mixed/highway driving may be the same actually, with reductions only being seen with a heavy gas foot.

The harness once it's swapped, it doesn't go bad again, and it's a very straight forward install.
If I were in your socks shoes flip-flops, whichevs, I'd do a complete overhaul of all the gaskets, a full-on valve job, basically install a new engine. With some extra scratch, re-up the tranny too. And then...I'd think about custom internals.
But then again, I dig pedicures and foot massages..

Definitely, once you get the spare Amg engine in your possession, if the car is running and it's not imperitive that you put the engine in immediately, overhaul the heck out of that summabich. That way you have tens of thousands of miles of leak-free fun before you have to worry about it again. And things like head gaskets and valve jobs are 100 times easier/cheaper with the engine on a stand.
