Brun"HILDE"'s got new dancin' shoes - MONOBLOCKS
Well at long last the monoblock journey has come to a finale'.
Turns out the Intra 16's I bought were no good - one has a severe buckle and is not repairable.
Fortunately the seller has agreed to accept them back and refund the money - honest guy thank goodness.
So 'BrunHILDE' now has her new staggered monoblocks fitted and looks magic !
The staggered wheels are 17x7.5 ET36 and 17x8.5 ET30 from a 2003 CLK2003.
Interesting the poor guy who I bought them off was sold the car believing them to be AMG's according to the stealer-ship.
Well that's wrong for a start and worse they aren't all quality Intra wheels. The front's are INTRA but the backs are copies (good one's but copies nonetheless).
There is a some dead giveaways that they are copies.
1. The rears have 60 degree taper seat for bolt holes (Mercedes in that era and possibly longer use the ball seat).
2. They are stamped "ITALY" not "MADE IN ITALY" though some copies show the full sentence. Though they are using the manufacturer's number for MOMO which were a secondary supplier of wheels to Mercedes.
So without too much fanfare (because they are twilight pictures and not the best) here is Brun'HILDE' in her new shoes.
Interesting I heard from the PO of my (Gary) car who related that a chap in NSW bought an E63 AMG brand new and accidentally damaged a wheel. The owner sought a replacement from Gary who after examining the car had the unfortunate duty to tell him the wheels on his car were not "AMG" .
Seems even the stealer-ships aren't adverse to selling "wrong-uns" and in a subsequent court action, the Owner won the case and was reimbursed the cost of a full set for his car - between $6000-$7000 dollars !

Not when the wheels I bought only cost $480 and have been in storage for 8 years having come off the vehicle just after he bought it cause his wife thought they looked "too masculine". Personally I think I finally scored a really nice set for not very much !
The seller ? He does't have the CLK any more and I don't think he cares.
