1990 124 fuel filter change - help please
want to change the canister fuel filter. What's the procedure? It looks simple enough, but am concerned about getting air in the fuel lines, causing problems.
What's the right method please?

It is as it seems. However make sure you get new copper gaskets from the dealer. If you reuse the old ones it will leak. Found that out the hard way. There will not be an issue with air in the line.

On my 91,I dropped the whole assy down, pumps, accumulator, filter ,it was to much work under there trying to replace just the filter up there, ordered the correct crush washers ,I was also replacing pumps, here's a tip! some of the washers are different sizes and I didn't order all of them ,so I took the old washers and swiped them over some sandpaper to get a flat surface, reinstalled and no leaks!

that is a complete DIY on the fuel filter change. Followed it to the letter and had no problems.
If you buy a Hengst filter, they provide the crush washers.

fuel filters
very good. Thanks, Mike
Also, having problems with really high idel. Suspect vacuum line trouble. Someone suggested check those at the throttle body. Not familiar with this car yet. Anyone know of a good reference for vacuum lines on 1990 M103 engine?
