Lifting arm
There is a pair of lift arms that sadly break. Difficult but doable repair. Look in the FSM or use Search above to find threads to repair. There is definitely a thread at peachparts dot com & likely one at benzworld dot org.
My TE sunroof lifts with a creaking sound, so I don't use that position. I only open straight back until I can replace the lift arms.
