You will find a ton of infor through the search.
Many folks have had issues like you and have posted here some of the solutions. I can't remember them all but when you say you are getting 9-10 flashes are you talking about I suppose you mean from the code reader. Clearing codes can be found in this forum. Sometimes searching with Google will find the forum string faster than the forum search (no offense forum gods!)
Off the top of my head, first check all the fuses. There is a very large blade fuse that is sometimes the problem with top operation.
Are the rollover devices (back headrests) in the up position? if so lower them or you will not be able to release the boot lock.
Check your hydraulic fluid level, the reservoir is in the trunk, right side, under the carpet, and remove the cover. You will see if it is full or not.
There are other things like having the car running when you try to get the cycle going and having a fully charged battery but you will find that stuff out in the search.
In a wet humid condition like yours I would go look over all the fuses first.

...seems like the folding top controller #124.820.45.26 is putting out only 5+volts and it should be 11-14v...does this mean the unit is definitely faulty? repairable?
top works intermittently once fault codes were cleared but still getting 1 fault showing
any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated
thanks as always
