1993 Mercedes 300CE CV - Transmission Fit

Hello All,

I'm a new member to this forum
I have been driving a (registered under) 1993 Mercedes 300CE CV which confused me a little bit because it has the new face lift of the 94 convertible but is registered as a 93 (only one previous owner, old lady)..

But to a bigger problem,
My car pretty much drives forward at 25mph max speed, doesn't shift up and the tranny is locked into "D". I can't put it into reverse or P anymore..
As newbish as I am I decided to just look for a new transmission but with so many models out there I can't find one that was from the exact same car.
Can someone help me find out which one will fit as far as model 722.xxx or which year and model will fit? Or should I even buy a new tranny?

Also I just ran a VIN CHECK it says:
Engine Type 3.2L L6 DOHC 24V

Can anyone help me identify if it is M103, M104. How does that make a difference?

PS: I've attached a back-shot of the car (Sorry I don't have any front shot readily available)

Thank you all for taking your time to read my post!

I forgot to mention what happen:
I was simply driving on the freeway (approx 50mph) and all the sudden it died on me when I was pressing on gas to go uphill. =(

So after some research on the forum
I narrowed it down to 722.359 or 722.369, though I'm not sure on those 2.
I called a local shop and they quoted me $800 to take out the old tranny and put the new one.. Is this reasonable?

It's an M104 engine (DOHC).

The M103 was SOHC.
