Ownership for a long time: A word
My E60 is a 1994 model. I bought her "used" in early '96 with only around 6,800km. As the second owner, now she has around high 80k clocked.
Lately, there has been many small issues to attend to. One after another, but when corrected, she is back to herself, almost, until the next issue arrises. The last was the ETA, electronic throttle actuator.
All of this simply brings to my attention that long ownership means such issues come up and appropriate fixes and corrections would resolve. The car is sound and solid and with proper care, she is still my favorite sedan that I can relate to, after all these years.

In my experience the longer you own a car, the more you will realise it has it's own moods and quirks.
There will always come a time when you have to replace a bunch of parts in a relatively short time. Then there are times of bliss, nothing but gas for months at a time....

Hey Jimmy
I reckon you could make a mint selling used AMG parts off W124's that appear to be in plentiful supply over there in Japan.
Everytime I see a Japanese photo shoot of W124's they are nearly always adorned to the max with add-ons that are hard to get anywhere else.
Cheers

Not sure about making a mint, but yes, it seems to be a popular thing over here. German cars are very popular among others, but lately in the past several years, I have noticed a lot of Audi cars which seems to be riding the tide. People here seems to like to newest and the latest.
