Good question. Mine are horrifically pitted and turning gray/white now as well.
They seem like they're simply a slip-over boot, but you may be right in that they might not be sold as their own item.

I wasnt able to find just the rubber, so yes i replaced the whole mirror. Wasnt easy to find one in good shape neither...
If anyone got any more info about this it would be great

Please send info on mirror rubbers. Cost. Any tips on installation would be appreciated.

As Fredtga said the rubber mounts are a specific spare part.
EBay or one of the Euro/Asian MB parts places should carry them.
Often its a matter of working out what weird *** name they gave the part.
